Melanie Adele Martinez, an American singer & songwriter, has released a new song titled “Death” from her forthcoming album project “PORTALS.”
Melanie Martinez announced last month that her new album would be “Portals.” Now, she has hinted that the first single from the album will come out on March 17, much to the delight of her fans.
The single, “Death,” was announced in a mysterious post on Martinez’s Instagram account, with a caption that seems to be the song’s lyrics. The center also showed what looks like Martinez’s pink alien alter ego coming out of a human body lying down.
Melanie, of Dominican and Puerto Rican descent, found fame on the Emmy-winning singing competition The Voice USA. American Horror Story: Freak Show was Melanie’s inspiration for the songs “Dollhouse” and “Carousel,” which were featured in promotional materials for the show.
Melanie has a large fan base due to her dreamy yet gloomy aesthetic and distinctive writing, singing, and storytelling. Mrs. Potato Head and Dollhouse are concerned with social issues, whereas “Alphabet Boy” and “Cry Baby” reveal Melanie’s private life.
Lana Del Rey, Regina Spektor, Feist, Fiona Apple, and Marina and the Diamonds have influenced Melanie. Melanie communicates with her followers via Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, YouTube, and her website.
